The lone extra is an audio commentary with director Dylan Brown, who is joined by stars Snoop Dogg and Whiz Khalifa. I found dialogue to be clear and clean, with no volume concerns or other issues to contend with. This is good since the rest of the sound design is rather pedestrian, so the music adds some much needed depth. The deep bass is what stands out, but all of the music elements sound terrific here. This Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack has a lot of life, thanks to the film’s music. Not an elite level transfer perhaps, but a very good one even so. The colors look bright and natural however, while contrast is stable and consistent. You won’t mistake this for a DVD, as the detail is strong, but it doesn’t have the three dimensional depth you find in the best high definition treatments. This is a solid transfer, but doesn’t stand out in terms of detail and depth.

Mac & Devin Go to High School is presented in 1.78:1 widescreen. If you’re a diehard pot humor lover or a fan of Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa however, then you’ll want to be sure to check out Mac & Devin Go to High School. The performances are what you’d expect, the cast just seems to be having fun on set and not all that concerned with anything else. But the plot never moves past that kind of humor, so unless you’re toasted as you watch, you might get a little bored. The writing is consistent, as the focus remains on getting high and not much else, including an animated segment with a talking joint. The film runs about an hour once credits are removed, so at least it is brisk.
In what seems to be more of a promotional tool for Snoop Dogg and Whiz Kalifa’s latest tracks, Mac & Devin Go to High School is short and packed with jokes about weed. But if you’re not into constant weed jokes, then you might not be all that dazzled.
